SS CONTE BIANCAMANO on her post-war sea trials off Monfalcone, Italy. Copyright Maurizio Eliseo collection.

Peter Knego’s latest Sea Treks video, “CONTE BIANCAMANO, Then and Now”, has been added to the MaritimeMatters video clip page.  See the 1925-built liner come to life in a series of vintage images provided by Maurizio Eliseo, including some spectacular views of her first class interiors by some of Italy’s most prominent designers.  Then visit the ship’s remains, beautifully restored by the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology at Milan.  The First Class Veranda by Gustavo Pulitzer-Finale still exists, as does its magnificent ceiling motif by Marcello Moscherini depicting the “Legend of Jason”.
