The third in Carnival Cruises’ DREAM platform of ships, the CARNIVAL BREEZE, was delivered to her owners by the Monfalcone-based Fincantieri shipyard near Trieste, Italy, yesterday.
The delivery of the BREEZE also marks the 100th anniversary of the first ocean liner constructed at Monfalcone, the May, 1912-built KAISER FRANZ JOSEPH I.
Author, artist and maritime historian Maurizio Eliseo created a special image of the two ships berthed together, ready to depart on their first cruise. The signed artwork was presented to CARNIVAL BREEZE’s Captain Vincenzo Alcaras on the night of the handover. The ship is now en route to Venice to commence her inaugural cruise season.
With very special thanks to Maurizio Eliseo.
