Viking Cruises is enjoying one of the most rapid expansions of any cruise line in recent history. With fourteen new Viking River Cruises’ longships coming on line in 2014, the line has also signed an agreement with Italy’s Fincantieri shipyards for another two 930-passenger cruise ships, rounding up its forthcoming Viking Ocean fleet to four.
The first Viking Ocean vessel, the 47,800 gt Viking Star, is scheduled for May 2015, with her as-yet-unnamed sisters to follow 2016 and 2017.
