After scrapping, much of the ship was bought and reused throughout Britain. Mr. Newhall has documented and brought to life MAURETANIA's second life. He examines the many remaining treasures from MAURETANIA, the story and lineage of her interior design: clearly so appealing and so well built that she reappeared in buildings across the UK. Mr. Newall has painstakingly reassembled this great liner through his detailed research and well produced excellent colour photographs. Thanks to this highly unusual and far above the average ocean liner history, the reader, much like a forensic anthropologist, may rediscover a lost civilization.
