Oceania Cruises announced Monday that Mary Hart, philanthropist and host of Entertainment Tonight, will be the Godmother to the much-anticipated MV MARINA, the first of a pair of exciting 66,000 gt, 1250 passenger newbuilds for highly-rated Oceania. The ceremony, will be held in Miami on February 5 and culminate with Ms. Hart releasing a 15-liter Nebuchadnezzar of champagne, custom-made by Armand de Brignac, into the ship’s hull. MARINA will then sail on a three night media and travel agent introductory cruise before beginning her official maiden voyage, an eighteen night trans-canal cruise to Los Angeles.

“It’s very exciting, and a bit humbling,” said Hart, “I’m truly honored to serve as the Godmother for MARINA– she will be a very special ship. And, I look forward to smashing a great bottle of champagne as we let the celebration begin!”
