COSTA DIADEMA Floated Out
|
Costa Cruises’ future flagship, the US$739-million COSTA DIADEMA, was floated out on November 15, 2013 in a technical launch ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. The 132,500-ton, 3,724-passenger ship is scheduled for delivery on October 30, 2014.

The ship’s madrina or godmother, Mrs. Franca Grasso, cut the ribbon, sending a bottle of champagne crashing upon the bow of COSTA DIADEMA . Subsequently the drydock was flooded and her hull touched the sea for the first time .
“COSTA DIADEMA will be our new Costa flagship and our tangible commitment to the future success and growth of our company,” said Michael Thamm, CEO of Costa Crociere S.p.A. “She is the 10th cruise ship built in Italy by Fincantieri for Costa since 2000, with a total investment worth almost $6.7 billion.”

During the winter season 2014/15, COSTA DIADEMA’s proposed weekly itinerary will include Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca , Civitavecchia and La Spezia.

That is wonderful and really luxury cruise ship. Wish it better luck than the previous flagship of the company – Costa Concordia. Costa Diadema offer to quality cruises and really luxury interior. I hope will be able to join it for cruise next summer.
